How it works

From your payslip to a filed return

Filing is a sequence, so this page is numbered. Each step produces something you can check before moving on.

01

Tell us who is filing

PAN, Aadhaar, date of birth, residential status and address. Date of birth matters more than people expect — it sets your basic exemption limit under the old regime and decides whether you claim 80TTA or 80TTB.

02

Enter each head of income

Work through salary, house property, capital gains, business or profession, and other sources. Skip any head that does not apply to you; the sections you leave empty never appear in your return.

03

Claim your deductions

Every Chapter VI-A section is on one page with its own limit shown next to it. The 80C group is capped at Rs 1,50,000 combined and we apply that cap as you type.

04

Add taxes already paid

TDS from Form 16 and Form 16A, TCS, advance tax and self-assessment tax. These reduce what you owe, and they decide whether interest u/s 234B and 234C applies at all.

05

Read the computation sheet

Both regimes side by side, every schedule you used, and an appendix showing the tax slab by slab. This is the same statement a chartered accountant would hand you. Nothing is filed until you approve it.

06

E-file and verify

Choose your regime, submit to the income tax portal, and e-verify with an Aadhaar OTP. Your acknowledgement (ITR-V) is saved to your dashboard.
